TSI PLASTICS OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF MOLDING PROCESSES FOR YOUR PLASTIC FABRICATIONS.

TSI Plastics is a leader in the molding processes of plastics. With the many advancements in modern technology, one process may be more efficient and cost effective for any given situation. Together we will work with you to find the molding process that works best for your project. Several variables will determine the process that is the best fit for your project and our team of experts can help you with that decision. Some of the processes we excel at are:

Injection Molding:
Our expertise in the injection molding processes include insert molding using vertical presses up to 125 ton. Horizontal presses up to 350 ton with complete robotic and CNC controls. Materials used range from soft urethanes to filled engineered thermoplastic resins, parts starting at under a gram up to 2 lbs.

TSI Plastics specializes in using high glass content resins and is capable of holding tolerances to ±.001. We also, compression molds thermoplastics with unidirectional tapes, woven fabrics, randomly orientated fiber mat or chopped strand. Our press capacity spans 15 to 300 tons, with part sizes up to 20”. Contact us to discuss your needs and let us help you find a successful solution.

Compression Molding:
TSI Plastics capabilities in compression and transfer molding range from precise insert molding in the military field to molding electrical insulation parts for the computer industry. Our press capacity spans 15 to 300 tons, with part sizes up to 20”. Compression molding is a high-volume, high-pressure method suitable for molding complex, high-strength fiberglass reinforcements. TSI Plastics specializes in using high glass content resins and is capable of holding tolerances to ±.001. TSI Plastics also compression molds thermoplastics with unidirectional tapes, woven fabrics, randomly orientated fiber mat or chopped strand.

Rotational Molding:
TSI Plastics rotational molds Nylon, polyethylene build to print parts in sizes from 3” and up to 10 lbs. We can hold tolerances to ±0.005” and we use 5 axis CNC routers for trimming precise aerospace quality parts for companies such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Contact us to discuss your needs and let us help you find a successful solution.

Thermoforming:
TSI Plastics can also thermoform any plastic material for parts such as kick panels, housings, cowlings and covers. We can mold parts using any thermoplastic material available. All secondary trimming is done on a 5 axis CNC router.

Hand Lay-up Molding:
TSI Plastics produces parts for the aviation and related industries. We have produced “build-to-print” projects that include wet or pre-preg lay-up parts using all advanced composite materials making parts with complex contours and shapes. We at TSI Plastics have been a valuable resource assisting in the decisions to build components via hand lay-up methods and/or more automated processes.

Typically, these lay-ups require vacuum bagging for optimum resin control and complex cure cycles in or out of the autoclave or ovens. Tools for parts are press molded or resin-infused molded. TSI has the capability to trim parts using 5 axis CNC routers for holding close tolerance dimensions on any trim contour.
